I have always loved making things and learning new techniques. I often combine them or adapt them in original ways to allow the artist’s work of play to blossom new ideas and allow for new unique techniques to unfold.
My twig work evolved out of my jewellery and in turn much of my newer jewellery is influenced by my twig work. My steel work and clay work are cousins and I find myself wanting to continue to overlap my materials and create a whole playful panorama of textures that sing a song of patience and organic flow.
My paper archive has become so substantial I am eager to explore many themes in both 2 and 3 dimensions with it. We are all connected. And this archive also connects us to our ancestors and their joy.
I live in a tiny beautiful town by a wondrous basin, walking paths everywhere and home to creatures of all kinds (bald eagles, whales, pheasants, deer etc) quietly making work that soothes my soul and hope it does the same for others.
I appreciate all my patrons and folks that have donated music and other antique paper to my archive tremendously. I am also deeply grateful to those who commission work, as it is another layer in connecting folks to the musical archive. When folks commission a sculpture from me I send photographs of the work as it progresses and also encourage my patrons to name their sculptures for a musical artist that brings them particular joy.
